Café Farrah’s ‘Warriors blends’ From Tawi-Tawi Now Brewing In QC

Despite its negative imagery associated with security concerns, Tawi-Tawi is considered as “one of the most off-the-beaten-path destinations in the country”. The remote island province located in southern Mindanao province boasts of white sandy beaches and stunning views, pristine waters, prehistoric caves, and mountain lookouts, rich cultural tradition that no one, especially Filipinos should miss.

It is along this line that 39-year-old Farrah Ainie Hadji, a native of Tawi-Tawi decided to open Café Farrah in Metro Manila– in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City to be exact.

“Anywhere and most especially in my home place, coffee is a way of life that in every household coffee is considered as ‘ginhawa-baran’ in Tausug. This means coffee makes the ‘soul-body oneness’ possible,” says Farrah. (Read: Food For the Soul: The Holy Communion)

“In whatever mood we are, coffee is the constant factor of the operating emotional equations. In any gathering, coffee is always served and should be made available. [Cafe Farrah] is different from other cafes because the unique coffee blends are made from rare coffee beans which are roasted to perfection,” adds Farrah.

Warriors Blend

One of the most unique blends is Café Farrah’s very own Warriors Blend– coffee beans are harvested from the Philippines southernmost and roasted the Tausug way.

“It is locally known as ‘kahawa sug’. Cafe Farrah’s premium coffee speaks of how strong the blend is and how kahawa sug has been a part of my people’s ‘ginhawa baran’,” explains Farrah. The cafe also offers non-coffee frappes aside from its signature blend.

Food and ambiance

One can enjoy Café Farrah’s coffee offerings in a rustic ambiance paired with some “Bangbang Sug” or native delicacies.

“It completes every diner’s cravings for a well-deserved dining-out experience,” says Farrah. (Read: Indonesia offers support to improve production of Pinoy-made coffee)

The dream turned into reality

Farrah says that starting Café Farrah was one of her best ideas in 2020. Opening her first-ever franchise in Manila is a surreal experience that defined everything for her.

“I’m forever grateful to my new partners who helped spread the sweet taste of Tawi-Tawi, Cafe Farrah’s hometown. It was conceived with passion and love for coffee, and for coffee lovers as well. Its launch was a dream translated into reality,” concludes Farrah. (Read: Palpitate PH Cafe Will Make Your Heart Beat Faster)
