Here Are 5 Things You Can Do With CBCP’s New App, ‘FaithWatch’

Last week, the Media Office of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) launched their new smartphone app, “FaithWatch”. According to them, its aim is to help Catholics “grow and share their faith” to others. And what’s good about the app is it’s available for both iOS and Android devices for free!

Praises for the app were given by papal nuncio Charles Brown himself, saying that it is a helpful tool for Catholics. “I am certain, as representative of Pope Francis, that this new Faith Watch app will help all of us live the gift of our faith and help us transmit it to others,” he said. He added that he also recommends the faithful to download the app for their daily lives. (Read: 3 Ways To Appreciate Catholicism—Through Minecraft!)

Boac Bishop Marcelino Antonio Maralit, head of the CBCP Commission on Social Communications, also said that FaithWatch is “very useful, practical, convenient, and timely.”

But what can you do with the app? Read on to find out!

Since the pandemic started last year, most religious gatherings like Holy Masses have shifted to digital platforms like Facebook and YouTube. This includes all activities that are done within the Mass such as offering prayer intentions and giving monetary donations to the church. Now, with the FaithWatch app, you can send in your Mass intentions with just one click on your smartphone!

Check Mass schedules

Because of our busy work-from-home routines, there are times when we can’t hear Mass on our regular schedule. And to find a new livestream Mass can be quite difficult as many churches have similar Mass schedules everyday. Luckily, the app has a long list of churches and their Mass schedules, including where they livestream.

Read news

Just like other news media outlets, you can now read news from CBCP News straight from the app itself. Stay up to date with what’s happening in our local churches, as well as what is happening in the Vatican and all of Pope Francis’s activities. The app also has a daily readings section which you can use to reflect at the start or end of your day. It will also provide you with the day’s Gospel so you can read it if you don’t have the time to attend Mass.

You can download FaithWatch for iOS here and Android here.
