Relieve Your Stress With These 3 Korean Entertainment Shows

Watching movies, series, and other similar content has become a way to relax and destress for many amid the COVID-19 pandemic. People would look forward to new episodes of their favorite series every end of the week, and would also schedule occasional movie hangouts with their loved ones over on video call.

But apart from the usual romcoms, drama, and action movies and series people would often watch even pre-pandemic, it is variety shows that really helped others to forget their problems even just for a little while. The slapstick comedy, fun games and concepts, and the A-list guests on the show are the heart and soul of these stress-relieving shows. (Read: LIST: These 5 Korean Stars Are Catholics!)

Men on a Mission or Knowing Bros is a variety show featuring seven male hosts and comedians who pretend to be high school students. They would then guest celebrities like Rain, Lee Hee-jin, and Lee Ji-hoon, and idol groups such as Seventeen, BLACKPINK, and EXO, who pose as “transferees” from another school. The hosts and guests would play various games, participate in talent shows, and just get to know each other.

Celebrity dads will be tasked to take care of all their children while the mother goes on a 48-hour relaxing trip. The dads would sometimes invite friends to help take care of the kids and play with them. Three of the most famous children to have come out of the show are the Song triplets–Dae-han, Min-guk, and Man-se–sons of Jumong actor, Song Il-gook. Some celebrities (who are friends of the kids’ dads) who have graced the show include SHINee’s Minho, ASTRO’s Cha Eun-woo and MJ, EXO’s Chanyeol and Kai, and ZE:A’s Kwanghee. If you like traveling and exploring, you would surely love “Two Days and One Night”. It revolves around the hosts of the show traveling to different parts of South Korea for, you guessed it, two days and one night, and play fun games and challenges. The show aims to present to viewers the various tourist spots they can visit in the country. Guests would sometimes join in on all the fun, just like “good boy” Kim Seon-ho (Start Up, Hometown Cha Cha Cha), who joined the hosts in various occasions.
