My Pope’s Watchlist While We Wait For Money Heist Season 5 Part 2

Money Heist, originally titled La Casa De Papel, stole fans’ hearts as it easily became one of the most-watched shows on Netflix.

Its plot revolves around a group of people who were recruited by the Professor to carry out two heists, one on the Royal Mint of Spain and the other on the Bank of Spain.

If you are a huge fan of the Spanish crime drama and have already done binge-watching the first part of its fifth season but find yourself looking for a watchlist of similar series and films while waiting for the second part, My Pope Philippines has some recommendations for you!

Money Heist: From Tokyo to Berlin (2021)

While waiting for part 2 of the last season, you may want to check out the 52-minute episode of Money Heist: From Tokyo to Berlin

It interviews the show’s directors, writers, and producers. Of course, actors Ursula Corbero (Tokyo), Alvaro Morte (Professor), and Itziar Ituño (Lisbon) also get plenty of screen time, too. 

However, if you have done that already, here are other series and films that offer slightly similar feels.

Lupin (2021)

Inspired by the adventures of Arsene Lupin, gentleman thief Assane Diop sets out to avenge his father, Babakar Diop for an injustice inflicted by a wealthy family. The French mystery thriller consists of ten episodes.

Heist (2021)

Unlike Money Heist, this true crime documentary features true stories.

Ocean’s 8 (2018)

The American heist comedy film is both a continuation of and a spin-off from Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s trilogy. It features an ensemble cast including Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Mindy Kaling, and Helena Bonham Carter.

It follows a group of women, led by Debbie Ocean (Bullock), the sister of Danny Ocean, who plan a sophisticated heist at the annual Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. (Read:

Vis a Vis (2015)

This Spanish drama series may be the apt follow-up after watching Money Heist. For one, it’s from the same creator, Alex Pina, and stars familiar faces, like Alba Flores (Nairobi) and Najwa Nimri (Alicia).

The eight-part series tells the story of a young woman who is sent to prison for crimes that have to do with manipulation and misappropriation. Spoiler alert: There are multiple prison escapes involved!

Now You See Me (2013)

The American heist thriller film follows an FBI agent and an Interpol detective who track and attempt to bring to justice a team of magicians who pull of bank heists and robberies during their performances and reward their audiences with the money.

Prison Break (2005)

The five-season series revolves around two brothers, one of whom is imprisoned for a crime he had not committed. The other installs himself in a prison he helped design to save his brother from a death sentence.
